Master’s Students – Intelligent Verification of Construction Rules Based on BIM Models
Master’s Students – Intelligent Verification of Construction Rules Based on BIM Models

CSIC's Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (IIIA) is seeking Master’s students for two part-time software engineer positions to join its Technological Development Unit as part of the iNORM project, funded by ACCIÓ (the Agency for Business Competitiveness of the Generalitat de Catalunya).

The iNROM project is coordinated by SME Enginyeria i Project Management (www.eipm.es) and aims to innovate, through ICT, in the automated compliance checking of standards and codes in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) sector, to make a qualitative leap in the interoperability capacity between the different agents involved, and thus significantly improve project management in this industrial sector. For this reason, an experimental prototype of a tool will be developed that demonstrates computational support for the verification task, combining modelling and information management techniques, large language models and knowledge-based artificial intelligence techniques. A small advance in the automation of the process can mean a significant reduction in time, cost and risk of error, in addition to orienting the adoption of those ICT technologies that will lead to a quality and efficient electronic administration in its rule verification task.
