The Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (IIIA-CSIC) is participating in RAG4EDU, a new European project funded by the Erasmus+ programme that aims to provide university teaching staff with the skills and tools needed to design AI applications tailored to their teaching needs.
The project, coordinated by the Berlin University of Applied Sciences (BHT, Germany), began in September 2026 and will run for three years. It bring together six institutions from Germany (BHT), Spain (IIIA-CSIC), France (Université Côte d’Azur), Finland (University of Oulu), Portugal (INESC-ID)l and Ukraine (Dragomanov Ukrainian State University).
Artificial intelligence at the service of teaching
RAG4EDU focuses on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technology, which makes it possible to combine generative AI with selected information sources, such as teaching materials and academic resources, to generate responses that are more contextualised and grounded in these sources.
Through practical workshops, training programmes and open educational resources, the project will help teaching staff design their own AI-based educational tools, without requiring advanced technical knowledge.
Calling university teaching staff: take part in RAG4EDU!
The project invites lecturers and other higher education professionals from all disciplines to participate in upcoming workshops and training activities.
These activities will offer the opportunity to explore the possibilities of RAG technology, experiment with AI tools applied to teaching, and share experiences and needs with other education professionals. Contributions from teaching staff will help develop resources tailored to the realities of university classrooms.
Interested in taking part? Subscribe to the RAG4EDU mailing list to receive information about upcoming workshops, opportunities to participate and project updates.
RAG4EDU aims to create a European community of teaching staff, researchers and education professionals committed to the responsible integration of AI in higher education.
