Information fusion and integration:
My research is focused on the integration of information at large, from particular aggregation operators as e.g. WOWA (Weighted OWA)
and fuzzy integrals to software for database integration or data cleaning (e.g. record linkage). I have studied formal aspects (e.g. fuzzy measures, modeling capabilities, ordinal scales) as well as algorithms for parameter selection/determination. Applications include privacy preserving data mining and decision making. Privacy preserving data mining (PPDM)/ Statistical disclosure control (SDC) and Security: I have studied measures to evaluate confidentiality (risk assessment) and developed masking methods for preserving privacy. I maintain a web page on this topic: http://www.ppdm.cat Information retrieval and clustering: I have applied clustering and fuzzy clustering to a variety of problems. GAMBAL, a tool for information retrieval, is one of the tools developed. See: here. Fuzzy Knowledge Based Systems: I am interested on Multi-stage fuzzy inference systems (Hierarchical fuzzy systems). I have contributed in the development of systems in compilation environments and for modeling the behavior of shape memory alloys. |
