About me

I am a researcher at the IIIA, working on the communication of trust and reputation.

Background

Since as long as I can remember I have enjoyed tinkering with things to figure out how they work. It was therefore fairly obvious that I would end up doing research in some science or engineering related program. I studied computer science at the University of Utrecht and during my BSc. I worked on a student project related to Robocup Rescue. That sparked my interest in Artificial Intelligence in general and Intelligent Agents in particular.

Academics

On May 2, 2012 I received my PhD in Computer Science cum laude for my thesis titled "Trust Alignment and Adaptation: Two Approaches for Talking about Trust in Multi-Agent Systems" from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. The work for this thesis was performed at the IIIA and my thesis advisors were Dr. Jordi Sabater-Mir and Dr. Marco Schorlemmer.
I finished my Master's degree in Computer Science - Agent Technology at the University of Utrecht. My final thesis can be found here. Part of the research for this thesis was done at the Department of Information Systems at the University of Melbourne, Australia.

Aside from this, I also completed my propaedeutic certificate in Mathematics at the University of Utrecht.
