To sketch a methodology whereby the tradeoff of information loss and disclosure risk is optimised for Statistical Disclosure Control (SDC) procedures for categorical data. To achieve this end, measures of information loss must be defined for relevant procedures, and series of experiments will be conducted on real data for each considered SDC method. Reidentification for categorical variables will be analysed for categorical data.
