The Catalonia Institute of Technology is a public university devoted to technical arts and sciences. Several departments work on Artificial Intelligence topics like expert systems, robotics, artificial vision, machine translation, and connectionism.

The Computer Vision Center is dedicated to research and development of industrial aplications of image processing technologies. The CVC was established by the cooperation of the Catalan Government Research and Technology Agency (CIRIT) and the Computer Science Department of the UAB.
